From the mouth of my baby

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Overheard tonight:

Ethan: Daddy, I don't want you to die.

Adam: Don't worry buddy, I'm not dying. Why did you ask that?

Ethan: Because I don't want a new Daddy with blonde hair.

Tsk-tsk-tsk. Now Dena--why would Ethan have that particular concern? *blush*

Awww.... My son was completely death-obsessed at that age. I'd be driving him to school and we'd both be in tears while he wailed about not wanting me to die, not wanting to die himself, etc. He never mentioned haircolor, though!

Here via michele today!

Our five-year-old has been broaching the topic of death more often of late, and I suspect part of it has to do with my father's health. He's such an insightful little man that it often makes me want to cry.

Beautiful picture and beautiful sentiment. Thanks for sharing both.
